Here’s another power plant pic! This time it is svanemølleværket. The name directly translates to “ swan mill plant” and it’s located in the north harbor in Copenhagen. When my friend, Bjørn, called me and asked if he could join me on one of my night trips, I immediately said yes. He wanted to record our trip for a podcast. Talking about my night photography and why I do what I do. Since I don’t directly get a chance for direct interaction with a lot of people these days I much welcomed his company. I’ve been wanting to visit this location for a long time, so this is where we went. It was both interesting and kinda challenging to express my thoughts and feelings about night photography in real life spoken sentences, but I think i did alright.

A few nights ago I couldn’t sleep. I tossed and turned. But with no luck. About 2 in the morning I got up and got dressed. I packed my gear and went out into the night. The city is really quiet at the time. It felt like I was the only one awake. I decided to go down to the power plant to get a couple of shots. It had been raining and the streets where perfectly soaked. It’s one of my favorite places in Copenhagen. I wandered around the area for a couple of hours. When I finally got home about 5 in the morning, falling asleep was no longer a problem.

A few weeks back I quit my job. I did that in order to focus on my photography. Working in construction really sucks the energy right out of ya. Tonight I get the keys for a shared studio where I can work on a daily basis. It is always a bit scary to make leaps into the uncertain like this, but I have I feeling that it will turn out all right. My biggest worry right now is money. What I would really like to do is to get in touch with galleries or otherwise earn a little cash as assistant. I’m still trying to figure it all out. If any of you have suggestions on how to get an income flowing, I would be deeply grateful.
